Question:

I think I have eczema in my anal/pubic area. It really itches and there is always a lot of dead skin. Do I need an appointment with my gynecologist?

Eczema can affect all areas of the body from head to toe. 

Eczema in the groin can be exacerbated by sweat, friction, pH, and skin care products such as soaps with fragrance or cleansing wipes that are used. Many things can contribute to inflamed and itchy skin.

We would encourage evaluation by a dermatologist to help create a plan to reduce symptoms and manage what can become a chronic skin condition.
