While many of our daily activities and appointments are impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, telehealth services have increased at Nebraska Medicine to allow our patients to keep their appointments.

Telehealth is providing patients and providers the opportunity to have face-to-face appointments without risking exposure to COVID-19. While not all appointments can be handled with video conferencing, it is beneficial for those at highest risk for complications from COVID-19. It’s also convenient for those who have to travel long distances or who are managing chronic health conditions.
We will continue to increase the use of video calls as technology allows. We are currently looking at adding inpatient video call capabilities. This will help better connect providers with patients, and give us the ability to connect families with patients, even if family members can’t physically visit.
Most of our specialties are available for video visits including cancer services, heart and vascular care, orthopaedics and more. Additionally, our primary care teams are using telehealth to connect with patients to ensure seamless care managing chronic and urgent health needs for your family. Using a few online tools, you can connect with a healthcare provider whenever, and wherever, it’s most convenient.
