When the doctor becomes the patient

Our endocrinologist's self-diagnosis became a national story featured on NBC's Today Show.

Anupam Kotwal, MBBS, is part of our team of endocrinologists. But Dr. Kotwal, along with help from his colleagues, did something very few doctors will ever do. He discovered his own thyroid cancer — the very same cancer he often diagnoses and treats in his patients.

See how Dr. Kotwal has used this experience to be a better doctor for his patients, a better researcher in the lab, and how he experienced firsthand the benefits the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center provides to those in need.
